Best Western

The Bowling Green Ohio Best Western is located right across the street from the BGSU campus. It’s directly across from the Harshman Quadrangle. If you are missing the glory days of staying in the dorms on campus, this is the closest place you can get (location wise). Another advantage of staying in the BGSU Best Western is its proxmity to one of my favorite restaurants at BGSU – Di Benedettos. I highly recommend their meatball sub.

The Best Western has jacuzzi rooms, family rooms and business rooms. They also offer a free newspaper when you stay there. The best western additionally offers free high speed internet, complimentary breakfast and a fitness center when you stay there. In the rooms they have hairdryers, irons, ironing boards, free cable and a coffee and tea maker. They do not allow pets at the Bowling Green Ohio Best Western. If you came from the airport or are going to the airport, they have a shuttle service available.

Holiday Inn Express

The Holiday Inn Express in Bowling Green Ohio is located just east of I-75. This Bowling Green Ohio Hotel has 73 rooms total on three floors. It’s right across the street from the Meijer super center. It’s relatively new to BG at least in the last 5 years. Unfortunately, it’s not in walking distance from the BGSU campus (unless you enjoy a long hike). You should plan on either driving to downtown BG or getting a cab.

Check in time is at 4pm and you check out of the hotel at 12pm.  The hotel is pet friendly and there is a 25 dollar fee for pets.  Amenities include an indoor pool, exercise area, same day dry cleaning, dry cleaning, free wi-fi internet, and a business center.  From the looks of their web site, they serve a killer free breakfast in the morning that includes anything from cinnamon rolls to eggs.

If you are looking to host a conference, they have room for 115 people in their hotel meeting and event space area.

Hampton Inn

As you can see from some of our other recent Bowling Green Ohio Hotel posts, that alot of the hotels in Bowling Green are close to I-75.  The Bowling Green Ohio Hampton Inn is also located just off I-75.  The Hampton Inn is located on the west side of Wooster road just behind Burger King and Starbucks.  To get to the hotel you need to make a left on Campbell Hill Road.

The Hampton Inn has a total of 82 rooms available.  The check in time is  3pm and check out time is 11am.  They offer high speed internet, exercise room, a business center, conference rooms, and a jacuzzi.  They offer King and Queen size beds in smoking and non smoking rooms.   They have a fitness center and a pool.

What’s really appealing about this hotel is the things they offer business travelers.  They have free printing services, computer rental, a business center, and even photo copying capabilities.

Want a hot breakfast?  They’ve got your covered with a complimentary hot breakfast.  If you’re in a hurry, they have breakfast bags that you can pick up and grab on your way out.  The breakfast bags are available Monday through Friday.

Presidents Day at Bowling Green State University

Every year, Bowling Green State University or BGSU has a President’s Day open house for new students interested in attending BGSU.   You may have seen the bill boards advertising the big event around Ohio. They have several posted around Columbus. Since high school seniors or juniors are off that day, it’s a great time to come up and visit the school and see the town.  Just make sure to bundle up as it may be a bit chili!

This year the President’s Day celebration is on Monday February 10th.  The on campus activities include workshops and sessions on:

• Multicultural Session for Admitted Seniors
• Campus Tours
• University Honors Programs
• Financial Aid information (always important!)

Victory Inn and Suites

The Victory Inn and Suites is also located on Wooster road just West of campus across the street from the BGSU Doyt Perry Stadium.  It’s just another one of the several Bowling Green Ohio Hotels.

You’ll see it on the left hand side of the street if you are coming from I-75 and are driving toward campus. It’s between Jimmy Johns and Speedway.

This is also a 15-20 minute walk to downtown bowling green and a 10 minute walk to the heart of BGSU Campus.

Amenities

The Victory Inn has several great amenities including free wireless internet, cable tv, and refrigerator and microwave in rooms.  They also have a large banquet room that can accommodate up to 500 people. They offer single, double, business and whirlpool suites.  The Victory Inn has an exercise room and provides a continental breakfast.

Quality Inn

The Bowling Green Ohio Quality Inn is practically across the street from Doyt L. Perry Football Stadium.   It’s a great location to be in if you are looking for a Bowling Green Ohio Hotel.   If you decide to come up to BGSU for a football game, it would be acceptable to tailgate in the parking lot.  That’s how close you are.   It’s also located next to the First Methodist Church.

The Bowling Green Ohio Quality Inn resides just west of campus so it’s a little bit of a walk to get to the downtown but can be a great walk on a summer evening.  There are also a few restaurants close such as Burger King and Waffle House.

The hotel offers a free continental breakfast, wireless internet access and a weekday newspaper (ah the good ole USA today).  What’s great is that the hotel will accommodate pets but they will charge you a fee.  You can call and ask for more details.
